Applications are invited for Postdoctoral Research Associates to work with Prof M O Scully and Prof G S Agarwal in the field of Quantum Biophotonics at The Texas A&M University. The Postdoctoral Research Associate (PDRA) will work with graduate students and other PDRAs in the group. The initial appointment will be for 12 months but could be renewable. The starting date is expected to be January 2017. The pay grade will be commensurate with qualifications. One post-doc will develop experimental methods based on Surface enhanced Raman Spectroscopy; nonlinear optical spectroscopic methods for Bio Photonics applications especially plant related issues like disease and growth and more generally abiotic stress. The candidates should have good training in the SERS and nonlinear optical techniques. The Instrumentation skills and experience with bio systems are desirable. The second post-doc would work on modern methods of high resolution imaging and microscopy especially using the shaped wave fronts or structured light. Bio photonics applications of photon correlation spectroscopy, coherence tomography and principles of quantum mechanics are envisaged. Applicants must already have a doctoral degree in Physics, Optics, Photonics or a related discipline. Applicants should also have a proven record of research in the corresponding area and strong publications. Excellent scientific writing ability and good communication skills are essential.
