The research group of Prof. Aash Clerk (in the Department of Physics, McGill University) invites applications for an open postdoctoral position in the general areas of theoretical quantum condensed matter physics and quantum optics. Areas of interest include issues of dynamics, noise and correlations in driven dissipative quantum systems, with a focus on quantum optomechanics and superconducting circuits (circuit QED). More information on the interests of the group can be found at http://www.physics.mcgill.ca/~clerk. Applicants should have a strong background in either theoretical condensed matter physics or theoretical quantum optics.
This position is a full-time one-year appointment, with the option of renewal for a second year by mutual agreement. The nominal start date is Sept. 1 2017 (earlier start dates may be possible). The application deadline is Dec. 15 2016, though applications will be reviewed as they are received. Applicants should submit a CV, publication list and **brief** statement of research interests through AcademicJobsOnline. They should also arrange to have three letters of reference sent (again using AcademicJobsOnline).
