Nursing and Healthcare Leadership Assistant Professor/Senior Lecturer
The Nursing and Healthcare Leadership Programs of the University of the Washington Tacoma are currently seeking applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor, or Senior Lecturer, based on qualifications and interest. Applicants must have an earned doctorate by the time of appointment, produce evidence of active scholarship and experience teaching. If applicant is a licensed professional, must be eligible for licensure in Washington State. This nine-month appointment is effective September 16, 2013. The successful candidate will teach across programs, will engage in scholarship, and will participate in service activities.
The Nursing and Healthcare Leadership Programs currently offer three degrees: a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Healthcare Leadership, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), and a Master of Nursing (MN). The BA in Healthcare Leadership prepares non-nurse students for careers in leadership positions across a spectrum of healthcare settings, including healthcare organizations, government, and industry. The BSN is designed for learners who are registered nurses. The curriculum supports students in developing professionally. The MN program prepares RNs for practice in a range of settings as leaders, managers, care providers, and educators. Additionally, in collaboration with the Education Program, a new Doctorate in Educational Leadership (EdD) starts summer 2013 and includes a pathway for nurse educators.
Working within a growing, interdisciplinary institution, faculty have the opportunity to develop new nursing and healthcare leadership courses and engage in research.
