The Department of Sociology at Franklin and Marshall College invites applications for a visiting faculty position, beginning Fall 2013. The position is renewable for up to three years, on evidence of teaching performance and/or continued administrative approval. Candidates with PhD in hand by August 2013 preferred, though ABDs may be considered (PhD holders will be appointed as Visiting Assistant Professor, and ABDs as Visiting Instructor). Teaching experience required. Preferred substantive areas include two or more of the following: sociology of culture/media, sociology of religion, social movements, political sociology, development, social psychology, and advanced or qualitative research methods. We are particularly interested in candidates whose geographic area of research lies outside Europe and North America. Teaching load is 5 courses per year.
