The Master of Arts concentration in developmental psychology at SFSU focuses on growth and development across the lifespan. The program is designed for students with interests in social and emotional development, cognition, learning, parent-child relationships, gender, culture, racial/ethnic minority groups, socioeconomic status, and psycholinguistics.

A mentorship model is used to prepare students for academic, research, and applied careers in the field of developmental psychology. Students are trained by one or two of the core and affiliated faculty. Applicants are encouraged to contact faculty prior to applying.

Developmental psychology graduates are successful in entering doctoral programs and in securing employment with research organizations or human serving agencies.

This graduate concentration leads to a Master of Arts degree in Psychology with a concentration in Developmental Psychology.
