The T-2 group (Nuclear and Particle Physics, Astrophysics and Cosmology) at Los Alamos National Laboratory invites applications for one or more postdoctoral positions in Nuclear Theory, broadly defined, to begin in Fall 2015. Candidates are expected to have a Ph.D. in nuclear theory or a closely related field by the beginning of the postdoctoral appointment (but no earlier than January 2010 per LANL policy). There are six full time staff members (Joe Carlson, Vincenzo Cirigliano, Stefano Gandolfi, Ben Gibson, Christopher Lee, Ivan Vitev) in Nuclear Theory, and we have close ties with our colleagues in high energy theory, astrophysics, cosmology, and experimental physics. Areas of greatest interest in the group include nuclear structure, quantum few- and many-body systems, nuclear astrophysics, neutrino astrophysics, perturbative QCD, the physics of heavy ions and the quark-gluon plasma, effective theories of strong and weak interactions, and low-energy phenomenology within and beyond the Standard Model.

Exceptionally well qualified candidates may be considered for a Director's Postdoctoral Fellowship or a Distinguished Fellowship (Curie, Feynman, or Oppenheimer).

Interested applicants should submit their applications on Applications should be submitted by November 15, 2014, for full consideration.
